A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The near-black field depicts a well-off, elaborately attired couple, with the male seated and the woman standing beside him as he holds a book. The rose spandrels display arching vines and small florets. The narrow red border features small, round petal rosettes. No identifying inscription appears.
